Rich Orlando, current CEO and President of Pacific Grass & Turf Inc., grew up around orchards, ranches and farming, so some may say that landscaping is in his DNA. Rich began his journey in the field of construction, becoming a licensed contractor in 1986 when he started building custom homes. From there his construction company morphed into a landscape construction company. His landscape business encompassed both residential and commercial properties. He was initially based in the Sacramento area, then moved to the Silicon Valley, servicing throughout Northern California. He witnessed the improvements in synthetic grass over the years and began to develop an interest in its applications. In early 2000, Rich realized that there could be a rapidly growing market in this region for synthetic grass.
There were common issues affecting the Sacramento region, including droughts, water rationing, problems with the usage of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. These problems were driving up the costs of maintaining a traditional, natural grass lawn. Rich began his education in the installation methods and types of artificial grasses that were available. From here he formed a crew of some of the best installers in the area. Most of these employees remain employed with Rich to this day. The uses of artificial grass have grown tremendously over the years and Rich is very innovative in coming up with new ways to use and install grass at every opportunity he gets. Choosing Pacific Grass & Turf as your installation company will bring you an honest and fair sales experience, along with a top of the line product and an experienced, hard-working installation crew to bring your project to life!
